The smell of the baking throughout this day is wonderful. We do easy but exciting things which have stayed with us since childhood and we cannot wait to share them with you!
Breads. Foccaccia, Granary and seeded, Ciabatta. Moreish and delicious dipped in olive oil and salt, which is just delicious!
Scones. These are to be eaten soon after exiting the oven and we do savoury and sweet.
Filo Parcels of gooey cheese and red pepper. Easy to fill and bake and they also freeze well.
Choux Pastry. (Great as savoury treats, filled with creamy mushrooms and blue cheese, or sweet, filled with cream and built into a tower with caramel)
Shortcrust Pastry. We flavour it with smoked paprika, garlic and parmesan cheese so that the pastry tastes of something.
Spinach and Leek Tartlets. (Wonderful for lunch or starter for dinner, no need to blind bake, seriously)
Smoked Bacon and St Agur cheese tarts.
Demerara sugar shortbread. Simple, crunchy and very indulgent.
Gooey Brownies. Dark, indulgent and one is never enough.
Coffee and Walnut Cake. Marko’s Granny was a great baker and this was one of her signature cakes. The bite of the walnut goes well with the earthy coffee flavour.
Lemon and Orange Drizzle Cake.
No Bake Dark Chocolate Cheesecake.
